history
The eighteenth-century tidal mill originally used by the family for milling and grinding was the beginning of the family business at the salt pans of Grelha.
The mill is a distinctive symbol of the entire plot and, despite having been idle for over forty years, it is still in good condition.
In the 1920s, grinding ceased to be profitable, as a result of new, modern mechanisation. The tidal mill's water supply was then used to feed the salt pan system.
